"A little bit of land that time forgot". What a wonderful sight, over 40 years have passed, when on Saturday 13/09/2008 I popped in to Hammer United Football club and it felt like time had stood still, the same old slope and surroundings. Greeted by Kipper, cup of tea from val, nancy sitting there enjoying the football, seeing Bob Judge looking and talking about all the photos in the club house, seeing the 1967 photo of the pretty boys with their long hair, curls and sideboards, the only thing missing was my leather jacket and motor bike. Will visit again and hope to see other old faces, good luck to all involved with Hammer United Football Club. |

A blast from the past Hi everyone at Hammmer F.C from Ron and Maggie. I have received the invite from the lovely Val and hope to see you all in April.
I see James has gone into management. No wonder the defence looks so leeky. He only knew how to score goals. Are his tactics to lob an old brick at the players to get them motivated, or the defencive ploy of Phil Searle, if it moves slide tackle them into the hedge. Maybe you now play the intricate short passing, moving off the ball, laying the ball into space in front of a collegue, with boundless stamina or it is still like the old days, hoof it into the air and play an almighty lottery game?

Hope you enjoy the new website. Big thanks again to Andy, one of the web heads here at Sure.
All that is needed now is a lottery grant for a clubhouse in keeping with most other teams in our league! CMon Camelot?
Here is to the next season, golf for me I reckon!
Justin, I will be over for some more lessons so warn the greenkeepers :D - Cheers all. Dave M (The Gooner) |
